Jah-Jireh Charity Homes are care homes specially designed for the physical and spiritual care of elderly Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Jah-Jireh: The Meaning Behind The Name

Jah-Jireh (Genesis 22:14) means “provision from Jehovah” or “Jehovah will see to it.” We see every day how Jehovah continually cares for his elderly servants and provides for them. We hope to play a part in it and recognise that based on the principle in Psalm 127:1a, this arrangement would not have succeeded without God’s backing and blessing. Therefore, Jehovah willing, this arrangement will continue.

Beginnings… 1985

Jah-Jireh was originally founded to care for the needs of a faithful sister dear to our hearts. Having cared for her own parents and husband until their deaths, she found herself as a widow, childless, and in need of care. That’s when we realised that there were many elderly brothers and sisters in a similar situation who were also in need of care. What began as one in 1985, mushroomed into what Jah-Jireh is today.

Since Then…

Since then, we have loved and cared for hundreds, if not thousands, of our loyal elderly ones. We have also had the privilege of caring for many who have served in full time assignments and made great sacrifices in their younger years. We have compiled a few videos to give you a glimpse of the lives and experiences of many of our faithful residents. Please head on to our Videos page and watch them.

Becoming a Charity… 1997

Jah-Jireh was established as a charity in the year 1997 and by the year 2000, all the homes were part of “Jah-Jireh (Charity) Homes.” The trust document stated purpose is:

“ To cater for the needs of Jehovah’s Witnesses who are in need of nursing or residential care due to age, infirmity or economic circumstances and to bring relief during hardship and/or distress. Also the advancement of Christian religion as practiced by Jehovah’s Witnesses.“

Although Jah-Jireh exists to care for Jehovah’s Witnesses in need and all employees are Jehovah’s Witnesses, it is an entirely separate and unconnected entity to the religious organisation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Our Goal

Our purpose is to provide loving, spiritual and physical care for those in the community of Jehovah’s Witnesses who find themselves needing to be cared for by others, due to old age or infirmity. Our goal is to provide for their special needs and requirements, while maintaining their sense of dignity and giving them a safe environment to feel cherished and spiritually upbuilt.
