Jah–Jireh Homes: Leyland

In 1991 a large house in Beechfield Court was purchased. It stood in an acre of mature gardens and surrounded by a very nice Redrow housing estate. Sadly the house was in a derelict condition. At the rear of the property there were many dilapidated stables and other outbuildings.

The main house was restored and renovated first to house 11 elderly brothers and sisters and a plot of land purchased from Redrow adjacent to the site for the eventual building of a manager’s house until which time the manager and family lived in the home.

In 1994 the outbuildings and garages were demolished to make way for an extension that would accommodate more en-suite bedrooms, a new dining room overlooking the garden with a patio either side, laundry room and a new foyer and entrance. The roof void above the old house was renovated to create a hospitality room and a self contained flat for the assistant managers.

The home now features:

  • Large lounge, TV lounge & Quiet lounge
  • Large dining room and patio
  • Secluded mature garden
  • Summer house
  • 1 double bedroom & 34 single bedrooms
  • 22 of the rooms are en-suite
  • All rooms at least 10 sq metres
  • Nurse call in all rooms
  • 8 person passenger lift
  • Hairdressing Salon
  • Activity sessions and outings
  • Meetings for field service and all the features previously mentioned for theocratic upbuilding.
